Sleeping straphanger robbed on G train

A sleepy straphanger was robbed onboard a G train on Feb. 2.

Police said the victim fell asleep while riding a Queens-bound train at about 5:30 a.m. When he awoke at the Classon Avenue station, he realized his iPhone, ID card, OMNY card, debit card and cash had been taken from his pockets, and the perp had hit him in the face in the process. Officers searched for the perp without success but said there were cameras on the platform. The stolen property was worth just over $500, police said.

Wallet snatched at grocery store

A sticky-fingered shopped snagged a shopper’s wallet at a Myrtle Avenue supermarket on Feb. 3.

The victim told police she was pushing a stroller through the Bravo grocery store near the corner of Carlton Avenue at 1 p.m. when she briefly turned away. While she was distracted, someone grabbed her wallet — with her credit and debit cards, cash, and ID cards — from the under carriage of the stroller. The perp fled the store, and has not been identified.

Woman injured in unclear assault

A woman was severely injured in a mysterious assault on Jan. 27.

The woman was walking down Quincy Street, near Classon Avenue, at 7:30 p.m. when she was struck in the back of the head with an unknown object. The blow knocked her unconscious, police said, and she fell to the ground. She was taken by ambulance to the emergency room at University Hospital at Downstate, where she was diagnosed with mild fractures to the skull. Cops were not sure who had attacked the woman, or what she had been hit with.

Locker room looter

Two gym rats had their belongings stolen from a Fulton Street gym on Feb. 6.

According to police, the victims arrived at the Crunch Fitness near South Portland Avenue at about 5 p.m. and left their belongings unsecured in the locker room while they worked out. About 40 minutes later, both victims received notifications from their banks about unauthorized transactions and discovered that their wallets had been stolen, along with one victim’s AirPod case. The thieves immediately attempted to make a nearly $300 purchase at Best Buy and withdraw more than $800 in cash, though both transactions were thwarted.

Vespa stolen from street

A unique Vespa scooter was stolen from the street on the night of Feb. 6.

The victim parked the roughly $9,000 scooter on Adelphi Street, near Fulton Street, at about 5 p.m. on Feb. 6, police said. It was locked up and the victim was in possession of all keys, but when he walked outside in the morning, the scooter had disappeared, with just broken glass left in the street. Cops confirmed that there were no outstanding tickets associated with the vehicle and that it had not been towed, and said it could not be tracked.
