Tangled up in theft

Cops arrested a 41-year-old man on Feb. 6 in connection with the theft of $20,000 worth of ethernet cables from an equipment rental agency’s unattended vehicle.

After identifying the perp on security cameras, Sunset Rentals reported to police that the alleged thief stole 16 spools of type 5E cables from one of its vehicles, left locked and unattended at Steiner Studios by Brooklyn Navy Yard.

According to the equipment company, the theft occurred on Jan. 24 and was reported to police on Feb. 6 once they had identified the alleged suspect.

Lobby looter

An alleged package thief was cuffed on Feb. 10 for breaking into the lobby of a Clinton Hill apartment building.

A 35-year-old tenant of the building told cops that the perp entered the Clinton Avenue residence by prying the front door open at 6:30 a.m. on Feb. 9. Once inside the man allegedly took the woman’s package worth $106 – containing a baby sweatshirt and door protector.

After identifying the 47-year-old suspect on the building’s security cameras, patrolling officers arrested the man the following day.
