Delivery riders targeted in Fort Greene

A food delivery man was robbed at knife point after being lured to a Fort Greene address on Mar. 14.

The 21-year-old victim reported to police that he was delivering Thai food to an address on Oxford Walk at 9:20 p.m. when he was approached by a man who took out money to pay for the food. During the exchange, a second man came behind him holding a knife.

The first suspect took the money back from the victim while the second man took the bag of food before they both fled.

Investigating officers found that the number used to call in the Mar. 14 delivery was also used in a previous robbery that occurred at the same address of Feb. 16. The investigation is ongoing.

Tool thieves

Officers from the 88th precinct are investigating the theft of construction tools from two separate Fort Greene construction sites.

On the morning of Mar. 14, employees at a construction site on Clermont Avenue arrived to find the site’s lock box was missing and the door ajar. The overnight thief made off with tools worth $2,820, according to the site workers.

The second incident occurred on March 15 at a construction site on St Felix Street. Similarly, workers who started their shift that morning found the padlock to the site’s front door broken on the ground. Workers reported that tools worth $2,332 were missing from the site.

Neither site had working security cameras at the time of the burglars but cops say they are checking nearby cameras to identify the tool thieves.
