A better way on Church Avenue

Mark Dicus, executive director of the Church Avenue BID, got a vote of support and thanks from the members of the Prospect Park South Association when he was presented with their “PPS Good Neighbor Award.”

“Mark has reached out to work hand in hand since day one,” explained PPS Association President Al Cleary. Among the examples Cleary cited were Dicus’ working with City Council Member Matheiu Eugene to get traditional lamposts along Church Avenue, active involvement with traffic and crime issues including attending CB14 and precinct community council meetings.

“Mark has also really partnered with the community to fight graffiti,” said PPS Security Chair Nathan Thompson. “He got the 70th Precinct Explorers involved and took it to a new level. And he’s not afraid of getting his hands dirty himself. Church Avenue literally looks better since he arrived.”

The award is presented at the PPS annual Know Your Neighbor meeting held at Temple Beth Emeth, 83 Marlborough Road.
