Prospect Park sparkled with emerald frolics as visitors enjoyed a day of national pride – Irish−style – during the annual Tara Festival at Bartel Pritchard Circle, attended by the consul general of Ireland.

The celebration of all things Irish featured pipers, step dancers and other crowd−pleasers at the famed circumference off Prospect Park West, where a bench dedication honored the efforts of “Erin’s sons and daughters” who came from Brooklyn parishes and neighborhoods to gather on Donegal Hill in Prospect Park, and are credited with preserving Irish culture in the borough of churches.

At the park bandshell, the group celebrated the planting of a tree in honor of Gaelic sports hurler Tim O’Dea.
