Clean escape
Two men robbed an Eight Avenue Laundromat at gunpoint on Oct. 10.
The 54-year-old owner of the establishment, between 10th and 11th streets, told cops that she was working inside the building at around 3:30 pm when the two suspects entered, brandishing a black handgun.
“Give me your money and get into the bathroom,” ordered one of the thugs.
The victim did as she was told, handing over $600 to the men, who the fled toward Ninth Avenue.
Tooling around
Someone snagged power tools out of a car in the parking lot at a Second Avenue hardware store on Oct. 10.
A 44-year-old witness told cops he was waiting in the lot, which is between Ninth and 11th streets, at around 9 am when he saw a man pull open the unlocked door of a white Ford van, pull out a $500 power saw, toss it into his own car and drive away.
On the same day and at around the same time, someone stole more than $900 worth of tools from a van parked on Baltic Street. The driver of the company van told cops that he had left the vehicle between Nevins Street and Third Avenue at around 8:30 am.
When he returned just after noon, he found the van’s sliding door lock had been broken, and several tools were missing from inside.

Two men broke into a Prospect Park West house on Oct. 9 and got away with a laptop.
The 48-year-old owner of the home, which is at the corner of Third Street, told police he left the home at around 3:30 pm. When he returned just 20 minutes later, he noticed that someone had climbed through an open basement window and grabbed the computer.
A home security camera captured clear shots of the thieves’ faces, however.
