Just who needs the Dark Knight ride at Six Flags when a great summertime adventure was unraveling right in Gerritsen Beach?
Residents of Allen Street between Knapp Street and Gerritsen Avenue certainly kept everything moving as they took the traffic-free block by storm.
If residents weren’t bouncing from one neighbor’s front yard to another, they were trying to keep up with their fast, but far from furious kids zooming by on their bikes and skateboards.
If the kids weren’t pedaling, they were playing the day away by teaming up for games of hoops and soccer.
Neighborhood youths were also seen dancing in the streets, giving our photographer a rousing re-choreographed rendition of, “Cotton-eyed Joe.”
