NYPD accident investigators canvass a Midwood corner where a 13-year-old girl was struck down by an ambulance for Community Hospital Monday. Officials said that the teen was crossing the corner of Coney Island Avenue and Avenue K at 9 a.m. when she was hit by the passing ambulance, which was reportedly speeding to an emergency. The teen was taken to Kings County Hospital where she was listed in critical yet stable condition late Monday, officials said. Police said that they had just begun the investigation into Monday’s accident as this paper went to press.
