America speaks: Graffiti Girl proves NY stinks

To the editor,

OK, this is retarded. Calling the cops just because she was drawing on the sidewalk with chalk is retarded and those people need to grow up!

The neighbors should be minding their own business. If drawing on the sidewalk was a crime, the the company should have never made the chalk.

To the editor,

Are you freakin’ kidding us? Please say you’re kidding, right? What’s next? Ticketing a little innocent girl or boy for not doing his or her chores on time? That’s it — let’s all give up. Throw in the towel. We are now fully prepared for ripping up our once valued Constitution to live free without prejudice in this once great country, and bow to the New World.

God bless America.

Web comment:

How disgusting. Juvenile names usually don’t appear in the paper unless it is desired by a parent. You newspaper people and the people you promote (tart stars) are pathetic and more transparent than Windex on glass on a windy day.

Here is a case of some family deciding the 6-year-old needed an early start with the media. Next week, it will be the same child in a detention center and the next year in jail.

Give us a break you creeps!

To the editor,

I would LOVE to send this little girl a huge bucket of chalk, with every color they make!

To the editor,

I’ve listened to Editor Gersh Kuntzman on the BBC a few times in the past and I do hope he’ll bring up the case of the 6-year old graffiti artist next time he’s on Radio Five’s “New York Hour” (“New face of vandalism,” Oct. 13). We have equally stupid laws over here, too.

Web comment:

I think a ton of people should go to the neighborhood with chalk and make pretty drawings. See that neighbor’s face when everyone is doing it. It washes away with a little water. So ban together and start drawing.

Web comment:

This absolutely is graffiti and should be dealt with appropriately by the authorities, no matter the age of the offender. Children like her need to learn a lesson about common decency and not to mar our sidewalks with unsightly drawings and child’s games. This is no different than not cleaning up after one’s dog!

Homeland Security and the police are busy enough dealing with terrorist threats without having to deal with out-of-control teens!

To the editor,

The neighbor who called in Natalie’s “crime” is the Wicked Witch of the East! That’s about the only person who would be bothered by that kind of art!

Natalie’s neighbors should rise up against the person who made the call to 311. If I lived on the block, I would report them for everything until they got the message!

Kids have it tough enough in today’s world and these kids should be encouraged to continue their creative activities.

Let’s channel our energy toward things in our neighborhoods that really matter! The complainant needs to get a life and stop the pettiness!

Web comment:

People care too much about the letter of the law and not its spirit. Anyone with common sense can see that the girl is doing no wrong. If I were the girl’s parents, I would just throw that notice in the trash and if the city tried to make a stink about it, tell them to shove it.
