Rosé wines, which are dry, not sweet wines, are the “official” wines to drink when the weather gets warm, says Darrin Seigfried, sommelier of Red, White and Bubbly in Park Slope. Rosé wine is perfect to enjoy at a summer picnic, and goes well with salads, sandwiches, fish, shrimp, and a number of meats. It has an aromatic and flavorful quality that people around the world find hard to resist, and make a grand Mother’s Day gift, too.
Red, White and Bubbly’s Annual Rosé Festival — on Saturday, May 10, between 2 and 6 pm — is a wonderful opportunity to taste a variety of rosé wines from around the world, as well as learn about the process that goes into making them.
All rosé wines will be selling for 10 percent off, and cases of twelve will be sold at 15 percent off.
Red, White and Bubbly, 211 Fifth Ave. off Union Street in Park Slope, is open Monday through Saturday 10 am to 10 pm, Sunday noon to 8 pm. (718) 636-WINE.
