Apply for a Cook Street apartment

Assemblyman Joseph R. Lentol announced that the Cook Street Housing LLC is currently accepting applications for the affordable housing now under construction at 9 Cook and 21 Cook Street in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn.

“There are 150 affordable units currently available,” said Lentol. “To me that means that 150 families will now be able to live in Williamsburg paying rent that they can afford.”

“Too many times families are pushed out of our neighborhoods because they can no longer the exorbitant rents that have become all too common. No one should ever have to make a choice between feeding their families or housing them,” the assemblyman continued. “That is why I have continuously fought for affordable housing like what is currently available at Cooks Street Housing.”

The Cook Street apartments are open only to those who qualify but do offer preference to those who live in Community Board One or who are Municipal Employees of the City of New York. Applications must be requested by mail from Cook Street Housing LLC c⁄o PO Box 680, Triborough Station, New York, NY 10035 or by visiting their website at www.cookstreetapts.com.

“I encourage all residents who are in need of affordable housing to apply — this is a wonderful opportunity and we need more like it,” concluded Lentol.
