Police are on the hunt for a man who tried to car-jack a woman in broad daylight on the corner of E. Sixth Street and Avenue Z in Sheepshead Bay on Jan. 1.
The victim was parking her car at 3:05 pm when a man climbed through the rear, passenger-side door and told the driver to “Get out of the f——- car,” police said. The woman screamed, and the would-be car-jacker ran, a police report states.
While the man fled, the victim stepped on the gas, but the car was still in reverse so the woman struck a parked vehicle behind her, a police report states.
Police say the man is 5-foot-8, has a mustache and goatee, and was last seen wearing a gray jacket, gray hat, gray sneakers, and blue jeans.
