Backsmack
A thug smacked a man over the head and stole his backpack on 67th Street on June 22.
The victim told cops he was near Ninth Avenue at midnight when a man jumped out of a white sedan and demanded his cellphone. The victim ignored the command, so the perp punched him the back of the head, threw him to the ground, and wrestled off his backpack.
Tiny terror
A violent thief assaulted a woman and stole her cellphone on Fourth Avenue on June 20, but cops grabbed the alleged teen perp soon after.
The victim told cops she was near Ovington Avenue at around 2:15 pm when the teen pushed her to the ground, cutting her knee in the scuffle before he grabbed the phone and ran toward the subway.
But that’s where cops a suspect, and charged him with the crime.
Trash and grab
Thieves trashed a 63rd Street apartment and stole computer equipment on June 24.
The victim told cops that he left his home between 13th and 14th avenues at 2:30 pm and returned a few hours later to find that his key didn’t work and his apartment had been trashed.
Closer inspection revealed that thieves made off with two fancy laptops and a digital camera.
Got the time?
Thieves snatched two expensive watches out of a 93rd Street apartment while its tenant was out for a few minutes on June 23.
The victim told cops that he left the unit, which is between Third and Fourth avenues, at 11:43 am and came back just seven minutes later to find two luxury watches — with a combined value of $9,800 — missing.
The man could not say with certitude that he hadn’t left the door open.
