An employee at a Bedford Avenue bagel shop got away with some serious dough on July 2.
The perp lifted the cash box — loaded with $4,082 — from Bagel Smith at around 9 pm and escaped from the shop, which is between N. Sixth and N. Seventh streets.
Mis-mugged
A crook put a gun to a 29-year-old woman’s head on July 4 — but he didn’t take anything.
The would-be mugger grabbed the victim’s neck and pulled out a firearm as she walked home from the grocery store near the corner Kingsland and Nassau avenues on 4:15 am.
“Don’t yell! Don’t yell!” the goon ordered as he emptied the victim’s bag on the ground.
But the crook didn’t pick up any of the belongings and fled empty-handed.
Fan or foe?
An argument over money turned bizarre on June 29 when an assailant struck a 19-year-old with a fan.
The curious clash started at around 2 pm at the corner of Kent Avenue and North Fifth Street when the perp threw punches — and a fan — at the victim, causing “substantial pain and swelling” as well as a laceration to the victim’s left shin, according to the police report.
Lots of break-ins
Crooks ransacked Greenpoint residences this week, breaking into at least five apartments. Here are the shocking details:
• Thugs pillaged a Clay Street apartment between 10:15 am and 1 pm on June 29 and grabbed an Apple laptop, Dell laptop, and camera lens. Cops think the thieves climbed through a rear window to get into the residence, which is between Manhattan Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard.
• Burglars raided two apartments in a N. 11th Street apartment building, heisting computers and other valuables from both residences. Crooks damaged the lock and door frame to get into the apartment between 11:30 am and 6:20 pm on June 29 and grabbed an Apple laptop and jewelry.
Thieves also ransacked another residence in the same building between 12:30 and 5 pm on July 3, snatching a laptop, jewelry, iPod, and credit cards.
Work was being done on the building, which is between Bedford and Driggs avenues, during the time of the break-ins, cops said.
• Burglars looted an Eagle Street apartment building, snatching goods from at least two residences in the edifice, which is Manhattan Avenue and McGuinness Boulevard.
Thieves forced their way through a front door to get into one residence and stole a Mac Powerbook laptop between June 26 and June 30.
Crooks broke into another apartment on June 30, heisting credit cards, a laptop, and a hard drive between 8:10 am and 5:35 pm.
Gym rat
A bodybuilding bandit broke into a fellow fitness buff’s YMCA locker on June 30.
The crook opened the victim’s locked cubby and escaped from the Meserole Avenue gym — which is between Lorimer Street and Manhattan Avenue — with the 46-year-old’s jewelry, credit cards, wallet, and cash at around 5:10 pm.
