New Year’s bash
A troublemaker bashed a bar patron with a glass at a popular Frost Street watering hole in the early morning hours of New Year’s Day.
The victim told cops she was out with friends at the bar near Lorimer Street at 1:30 am when a woman got into a verbal spat with her friend. The victim said she told the lady to calm down, and the scamp bashed her in the head with a drinking glass, authorities said.
The victim had a minor cut on her forehead after the altercation, and the glass-tosser left in an unknown direction, according to a police report.
Construction heist
Cops cuffed a duo who they say they caught red-handed burglarizing a Guernsey Street construction site on Jan. 1.
Police who learned about the burglary via radio showed up at the construction site between Norman and Nassau Avenues at 3:30 pm and peered through a hole in the wall to see the alleged crooks rifling around the site for things to steal.
The two suspects tried to flee on foot when they saw the cops coming over the fence of the site, police said. One of the alleged perps hoofed it and hopped a bunch of fences, but the cops managed to collar him a few blocks from the site, according to a police report.
The other alleged perp never made it out of the construction site and cops arrested him as he spontaneously confessed to stealing a cellphone from the site, authorities said.
Lock and block
Some rogue changed the locks to a woman’s N. Eighth Street apartment and tossed some of her stuff out while she was away on vacation sometime before Dec. 24.
The victim told cops on Dec. 28 that she had returned to her apartment near Roebling Street at around 6 pm on Christmas Eve to find her locks had been changed, according to a police report.
The victim said that her super had texted one of her roommates earlier in the month saying the lease holder wants the victim out of the apartment, but that she had already paid rent for the month, cops said.
Police said whoever it was stole the victim’s laptop and cellphone during the sketchy eviction.
