Young vs. old
A 21-year-old attacked a 66-year-old for a gold chain during an Ocean Avenue fracas on July 7.
The victim told police that he was nearing Church Avenue at 1:46 pm when the suspect approached and demanded money from him. When the victim refused, the younger man attacked, knocking the senior unconscious.
When the 66-year-old came to, he was missing his $900 gold chain.
Cops caught up with the 21-year-old thief a short time later, charging him with robbery.
Booze bash
A crew of teenage goons jumped an older man on Bedford Avenue on July 7 after the victim refused to buy alcohol for the minors.
The victim said he had already purchased alcohol at a local liquor store at 10:40 pm when the three suspects approached him near Caton Road, asking him if he could buy some booze for them.
When the victim said no, the suspects attacked him in an attempt to steal his liquor bottle — leaving him with injuries that warranted medical attention.
Cops nabbed one of the teenage thieves a short time later, charging him with robbery.
Clarendon crack-up
A 26-year-old was arrested for trying to run a Clarendon Road man over with his car on June 29.
The victim was near E. 23rd Street at 7:30 pm when the suspect tried to hit him with his vehicle.
When that didn’t work, the thug jumped out of the car with a box-cutter, cutting his victim in the back. The victim needed 27 stitches to close the wound, officials said.
The assailant was arrested this week after a brief investigation.
Radio-free navigation
A thief broke into a 2006 Lincoln Navigator parked on E. 48th Street on June 30, swiping the car’s pricey radio.
The 50-year-old who owned the Navigator said he left the vehicle parked between Avenues I and J at 11 pm. When he returned the next morning, he learned that the vehicle’s audio equipment had been ripped out of the dashboard.
