Beer run
Three punks mugged a beer deliveryman on York Street on Dec. 30, stealing more than $1,000 and trying to loot some cold ones along the way.
The victim was making a delivery at 3:30 pm to a spot between Bridge and Gold streets. When he came back to his truck, he saw the two guys taking beer, and told them to leave. Instead, one perp pulled out a gun and demanded cash, which the driver handed over.
iMugged
Cops arrested a 17-year-old kid for mugging a man on Third Avenue on Dec. 30.
The victim was near Pacific Street with a friend when suddenly two boys stopped them. One pulled out a silver object and threatened to shoot the victims if they didn’t empty their pockets.
After one of the victims handed over his iPod and expensive headphones, the other victim heard two girls’ voices shoting, “You got it!” and watched as the perps quickly raced away.
Cops later found one of the four perps in the Atlantic Avenue subway station.
Lock, stock
A perp broke into a man’s Pacific Street apartment on Dec. 30, making off with $4,400 worth of video games, a video game console, and a laptop.
The victim, who lives between Third Avenue and Nevins Street, left his apartment at 12:30 pm, but when he got home two hours later, the front door was kicked in and his belongings were gone.
A neighbor told cops he saw a 6-foot-2 man carrying a black backpack, leaving the looted apartment, but there was no surveillance video to help with the investigation.
Bad car-ma
Perps stole at least three cars — and a bike! — last week. Here’s a roundup:
• A Pennsylvania man parked his car on State Street, between Bond and Hoyt streets, on Dec. 29, just before 10 am. But when he came back that evening, the car was gone.
• A man parked his car on Livingston Street on Dec. 29 just after 1 pm, but took his chances and didn’t lock it — a prior thief had broken his locks, he told cops. An hour later, the car was gone from the spot near Hanover Place.
• A car parked on Montague Street, near Hicks Street, at 8:30 pm on Jan. 2 was gone the next morning.
• A perp stole a man’s expensive bike overnight on Dec. 29 after cutting through the bike lock and chain. The victim had parked the $1,400 bike on Joralemon Street, near Court Street, at 2 pm, but did not return to it until the next morning.
Crystal clear crime
A punk smashed in a man’s car window on Jan. 1 at the corner of York and Adams streets and made off with several thousand dollars’ worth of the man’s diabetes medicine, as well as his wallet, cellphone, and a video game system.
The man parked his car around 2:30 pm, but when he came back several hours later, there was glass on the street and his belongings were missing from the car.
The incident brings to memory a series of car window smashings this summer that riveted car owners in DUMBO.
