A driver struck a Bensonhurst senior with his car on 85th Street on Oct. 3, causing the man to die of his injuries eight days later in the hospital, according to police.
The victim, 83-year-old Baiyan Lui, was crossing the street towards 23rd avenue just before 1 pm when a 2009 Nissan sedan struck him just as he approached the curb. Lui was then transported to NYU Lutheran Medical Center, where he died on Oct. 11.
The driver remained at the scene and police have not made any arrests, but the investigation is ongoing, they said.
