A man pretending to be a police officer flashed a badge and robbed a 28-year-old during a Nov. 28 altercation on Bay 14th Street.

The victim was just steps from his building between 86th Street and Benson Avenue at 12:25 am when the thief approached and flashed what looked like a police shield. The thief, who also had a pair of handcuffs dangling from his waistband, demanded that the victim empty his pockets — then ran off with the man’s cash and wallet.

Purse grab

A goon swiped a 23-year-old woman’s purse as he ran past her on 65th Street on Dec. 1.

The woman was nearing W. Second Street at 11:20 pm when the suspect ran by, pushed her to the floor, and ran off with her property.

Pharmacy raid

A pill-popper broke into an Avenue O pharmacy on Nov. 29, swiping an assortment of pricey prescription drugs.

Workers at the GM Pharmacy near W. Fourth Street said the thief pried open the rear door sometime after 6:20 pm before cleaning out a drawer full of pharmaceuticals.

Buffet burglar

A thief broke into the East Ocean Buffet on 86th Street on Nov. 29, taking more than $1,200.

The buffet bilker forced the rear door of the restaurant, which is located near 17th Avenue, sometime after 11:40 pm, then proceeded to clean out a cash register and a safe in the office.

Steely shoplifter

Police arrested a 48-year-old man who they claim threatened to stab a CVS worker on Nov. 28 after he was caught shoplifting at the New Utrecht Avenue store.

Workers at the store near 84th Street saw the thief pocketing more than $200 in merchandise from store shelves just after 5 pm, but, when they tried to stop the suspect from leaving, the man pulled a knife and threatened to “pop” anyone who got in his way.

Cops caught up with the thief a short time later, charging him with robbery.

Grand getaway

A thief broke into an Avenue S home on Dec. 1, removing $1,000.

The victim left her home near W. 10th Street at noon. When she returned a few hours later, she discovered that someone had forced open a rear window and made off with her money.

Bottle bruiser

A thug attacked a 20-year-old with a glass bottle on Nov. 28 during an brawl on 66th Street.

The two men were arguing near 14th Avenue at 11:50 pm when the suspect, described by witnesses as the victim’s “friend,” brained him with a bottle, leaving him with a deep gash.

Cut up

A hothead attacked a 25-year-old on 86th Street during a Nov. 27 argument that ended with the victim going to Lutheran Medical Center.

The victim was escorting his girlfriend to her car near Bay 16th Street at 4:15 am when the suspect, a complete stranger, strode up and started arguing with him.

The suspect then jumped the victim, leaving him with deep cuts to his hand and wrist.

Jewelry taken

A burglar forced his way into an 81-year-old woman’s home on Bay 14th Street on Nov. 30, taking an assortment of jewelry.

The thief forced open a kitchen window to the home, located near Shore Parkway, sometime after midnight in order to get inside, the senior told police.
