Booker’s three scores pace Fort Hamilton past Flushing

Troy Booker hasn’t missed a beat.

Fort Hamilton’s junior running back picked up right where he left off after a breakout season a year ago. He opened 2015 with a monster game in a 44–0 win over host Flushing in Public School Athletic League City Conference football last Saturday. Booker rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries.

Quarterback Connor Fitzsimons completed seven of eight passed for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Jayson Magnani caught a touchdown and Seba Nekhet had three catches for 94 yards and a score.

Canarsie 24, Brooklyn Tech 6: Palyte Stubbs carried the ball seven times for 83 yards and a score for Canarsie. Damario Spalding posted 131 yards of total offense with a rushing and passing touchdown. Shawn Cabbell ran for 76 yards and a score on four carries and added an interception. Amani Murphy carried the ball eight times for 98 yards and Michael Marcovici posted 56 yards of total offense, including a scoring run for Brooklyn Tech.

Midwood 42, Thomas Jefferson 6: Matthew Boateng carried the ball 15 times for 135 yards and a score for Midwood. Carl Colas added 105 yards on the ground on 11 carries. Olatundo Bruin tossed a 70-yard touchdown pass to Silas Burch. Colas also picked up two interceptions. Casey Boston went three-for-six passing for 101 yards, including a 15-yard touchdown to Donte Davis.

New Utrecht 32, New Dorp 14: Miquin Jenkin Davis completed 8 of 17 passes for 174 yards and four touchdowns for New Utrecht. Walid Othman caught three passes for 99 yards and three scores. Ethan Neufville had the other touchdown grab. Gianni Penso made 10 tackles and recovered two fumbles.

South Shore 20, Boys and Girls 0: Jason Martin posted 133 yards of total offense and three touchdowns for South Shore. Omar Jarrett ran for 65 yards on five carries. Giovanni Denard and Rahyeem Gardine each made seven tackles.

James Madison 34, Grady 12: Shamar Logan ran for 212 yards and three touchdowns on 13 carries and threw a touchdown pass to Daniel Jefferson for Madison. Jamal Charles made a team-leading seven tackles.

Bayside 34, Sheepshead Bay 12: Shavon Clarke carried the ball seven times for 34 yards and a touchdown for Sheepshead Bay. Collin Smith Aiken added a rushing score. Bayside quarterback Shariff Abukari completed 11 of 18 passes for 250 yards and five touchdowns.

Eagle Academy II 18, Stuyvesant 6: Du Sean Barnett was 4 of 7 passing for 80 yards and two touchdown passes to Tisshun Williams for a combined 86 yards for Eagle Academy II. Ramell Redd rushed for 163 yards and a score on 10 carries.

George Washington 36, Automotive 6: Jashawn Joyner posted 86 yards of total offense, including a rushing score for Automotive. Kyle Coutain chipped in 55 yards on the ground.
