Bag snatch

Some punk grabbed a purse from a woman walking on E. 58th Street on Aug 16, authorities said.

The woman told police that she was walking near Avenue T around 1 am when she was attacked by the bandit who pulled the bag off her arm and fled into the same building she was heading into. Cops say the woman feared for her life and delayed calling authorities for three hours, according to the report. Police say the thief got away with her purse containing multiple credit cards, which she promptly cancelled.

Clothes thief nabbed

Cops busted a woman for trying to steal clothing at an Avenue U department store on Aug. 16.

Police say that the woman entered the location near the E. 55th Street around 6:05 pm, and took several items into the fitting room at two different times, placing the goods into a large bag once inside the fitting room. Police say she left the store without setting off any theft alarms. Officers caught up with the suspect three hours later nearby.

Big purchases

A marauder broke into a car parked on E. 52nd Street on Aug. 16, cops reported.

The vehicle’s owner told police that he left his car on the street between avenues L and M around 2 pm and the next morning around 4 am noticed that several of the credit cards he had left inside the vehicle were missing. According to cops, the victim later noticed that unauthorized transactions using the cards had been made.

Specs theft

A shoplifter stole several pairs of sunglasses from an Avenue U eyewear store on Aug. 14, police said.

An employee told investigators that the bandit walked into the location near E. 56th Street around noon, and shortly afterward lifted several designer lenses off a display rack and left the store without paying. Cops say the bandit got away with an undisclosed number of pricey spectacles.

Wide open

Some pilferer lifted a wallet from a car parked on Flatbush Avenue on Aug. 11, investigators said.

The car’s owner told police that he left the car near Aurelia Court around 1 pm, but returned to find the vehicle’s front passenger door wide open. Cops say the victim told them his wallet, which contained identification cards and credit cards, was gone.

Left and taken

A sneak thief snatched a shopper’s wallet at a lingerie store on Avenue U on Aug. 15.

The woman told police that she was talking with a store clerk in the E. 55th Street establishment when she placed her wallet down on a table around 2:15. A minute later her money pocket was gone, according to a police report. Cops say that video surveillance showed someone taking the wallet and walking out of store.

Guard down

Some sly punk stole a bag from a man sleeping in his vehicle outside a Utica Avenue fast food restaurant on Aug. 20, cops said.

The car’s owner told police he was sitting in a parking lot near Avenue H around 10:30 am when fell asleep with his window open. Two hours later he noticed his bag that had been sitting on the front passenger seat was gone, according to a police report. Cops say the victim told them the stolen bag contained an electronic tablet, his wallet, and driver’s license.
