BRICstudio 2008 spring season

BRIC Arts and Media continues its BRICstudio 2008 spring season of performances, running to June 4.

Upcoming is BRIClab’s Oni Faida Lampley Theater with Tambourine Moon, May 15 and 17 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12; $10 for students.

Playwright Lampley’s theatrical adaptation of “Tambourine Moon,” Joy Jones’ & Terry Widener’s beautifully illustrated book about a little girl and her grandfather walking through a city at night, is a lyrical dance between light and darkness, past and present.

As Grandpa tells Noni about a different dark road where he met her grandmother in Selma, Alabama, a picture of an African American community surviving the Jim Crow era emerges.

The theater is at 647 Fulton Street, second floor (entrance on Rockwell Place, around the corner from the BAM Harvey Theater).
