TD Bank opened its doors to the Brighton Beach community last weekend with a festive celebration and ribbon-cutting ceremony outside the bank’s new location at 722 Brighton Beach Avenue.

The weekend-long grand opening shindig included performances by local dance groups, face painting, raffles and appearances by neighborhood favorites, including the Brooklyn Cyclones mascot.

“We’re proud to open our newest Brooklyn location in Brighton Beach, marking an exciting opportunity to connect with local residents, small business owners and community members,” said Ralph Bumbaca, regional president of the New York Metro, TD Bank. “We look forward to bringing TD’s expertise, products and services to the neighborhood and helping customers on their personal and business financial journeys.”

The new branch is designed to better serve the diverse neighborhood, with a store manager who speaks Russian to reflect the neighborhood’s demographics.

“TD Bank really knows how to throw a party, and that makes sense because we should celebrate every business opening that happens in New York,” said Dynishal Gross, commissioner of the New York City Department of Small Business Services, during Saturday’s ribbon-cutting. “Big businesses in New York City support small business. And there’s no better example in banking than TD Bank.”

Gross applauded the bank’s investments in small business lending and online tools, calling the new branch “an amazing win for Brighton Beach.”

Local leaders also praised the addition of the bank to the busy commercial corridor.

“It’s a very happy day for Brighton Beach,” said Assembly Member Alec Brook-Krasny. “We love to have TD Bank here in Brighton Beach. This is a great addition and a wonderful business for Brighton Beach Avenue. TD Bank is just another testament to the success of Brighton Beach.”

Randy Peers, president and CEO of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce, echoed the excitement.

“The Brooklyn Chamber is always proud to support TD Bank. They are really community-oriented,” Peers said. “It’s like having a block party here. If we’re going to do this on a Saturday, you want to do it with TD Bank because we have a lot of fun. It’s all about Brooklyn. It’s all about this community.”

Sunday’s events continued the celebration with more family activities, music and giveaways.

The Brighton Beach branch is TD Bank’s latest investment in New York City, part of a larger effort to expand services and deepen ties in neighborhoods across the five boroughs, officials said.
