Dine and smash
A couple of punks broke into a Calyer Street diner and smashed in the place’s safe and cash register in the early morning hours of Dec. 2.
An employee of the diner near Franklin Street came in to open the business at 9:15 am to find two wide windows smashed in and open, said cops. The employee said surveillance footage shows two guys wearing masks and gloves drive up to the location in a car at around 5 am, then break in the window to climb into the diner, authorities said.
The burglars broke a cash register and broke into a safe, though it is unclear whether they managed to steal any cash, according to a police report.
Time thief
A thieving scoundrel and his silent sidekick stole an armful of wrist watches from a Manhatatn Avenue jewelry shop on Nov. 30.
An employee at the shop between Norman and Nassau avenues said the scamp grabbed five watches from the store display and put them in his pants pocket at around 4 pm, while his friend watched, authorities said.
When the shop worker tried to take the watches from the guy’s pocket, he shoved her left arm and fled with his partner in crime, cops said. The employee scuffled with the thief and shouted for help while the silent sidekick looked on, causing the victim pain in her arm and hand, according to a police report.
Wheeled away
Some rogue stole a guy’s car at Morgan and Meeker avenues sometime overnight on Dec. 3.
The victim told cops he parked his car at the intersection at 11:20 pm, then returned at 9:43 the next morning to find a low-life had stolen it.
