A man called authorities reporting that burglars were in his aunt’s home near Avenue U — which she saw through an app that accesses her home security system. The woman says she saw the group enter through a side door and leave through the door, according to the police report. The thieves left with several designer jewels costing an estimated $19,500, cops said.

Through the back

A crook swiped several items, including electronics and a bicycle, from a house on E. 35th Street on Aug. 30.

Police say the burglar entered the home near Avenue K through a back door around 4:35 am, and took a laptop, several credit cards, and a bike before fleeing. According to the police report, the owner may have left the rear door unlocked.

Busted door

Some marauder broke into a Troy Avenue home between Aug. 24 and 27.

The owner, who lives near Avenue J, told cops that upon returning to her home on Aug. 27 at 6:56 pm, she discovered her door broken and the deadbolt lock missing. Cops say the bandit left with $100 and a cellphone.

Blinged out

A burglar stole thousands in jewelry from an E. 49th Street home sometime between Aug. 8 and 28.

The victim, who lives near Flatlands Avenue, told police her precious gems were kept in a bag in her closet but on Aug. 28 she realized that the bag had some missing items.

Cops say between Aug. 8 and 12, the woman noticed the screen to her window was removed, but did not suspect she was victim of a robbery at the time. The lout got away with several gold rings, two sets of earrings, a necklace, and a bracelet, according to the report.

Shut the front door

Someone broke into a Flatlands Avenue home improvement business on Aug. 28.

According to the police report, a bandit broke into the establishment near E. 57th Street between noon and 6:35 pm. When the business owner returned around 7:45 pm, he discovered that someone had used an object to pry open the front window, and left with several pricey tools and a laptop, police reported.

Air-bagged

A crook stole airbags from a car parked in a Kings Highway car dealer lot between Sept. 1 and 4.

Cops say some nogoodnik entered the shop near Farragut Road and took three airbags from the vehicle and the left sideview mirror. There was no damage to a gate providing entry to the lot where the car was parked, but the owner says it can been easily accessed due to proximity to a nearby train track, according to the report.

Stroller swipe

A malefactor stole a phone a man was keeping in his baby’s stroller at an Avenue U department store on Sept. 4.

The victim says he was at the location near E. Fifth Street around 8:30 pm, and about 10 minutes later noticed that his phone, which was placed on his child’s stroller, was taken.

Gram-scam

A heartless crook scammed a Mayfair Drive North grandmother out of $6,000 on Sept. 5.

Cops say the 83-year-old victim, who lives near E. 63rd Street, received a call around 9 am from someone detailing that her grandson was in trouble and in need of bail money. After withdrawing the money from her bank account, the women then went to purchase three gift cards for the total of $6,000 and provided the information to the unknown fraudster, according to authorities.
