Rude awakening
A 67th Street senior citizen was beaten and robbed by two men who broke into his apartment on Aug. 22.
The 80-year-old victim told cops that he was woken up at around 2 am by a pair of thugs who threw him from his bed across the apartment to the kitchen floor. The perps then ransacked the house and ran off with $800.
Disconnected
A teen-aged Good Samaritan on Bay Parkway got robbed by the very person she tried to help out on Aug. 20.
The victim told tops that she was walking between Shore Parkway and the water at around 1:30 pm when a stranger approached her and asked to make a call on her cellphone.
After the unsuspecting teen dialed the number for the perp, the ne’er-do-well ran off with the phone.
No fear of God
An unholy bandit swiped a pious lady’s purse on Aug. 24 while she was praying in a 61st Street church.
The victim told cops that she had gone to her church, which is between 21st Avenue and Bay Parkway, at around 3:30 pm and knelt by the pews to pray. When she got up a few minutes later, she noticed her bag had been taken.
Burgled bikes
It was a week of motorcycle thefts in Bensonhurst. Here’s a roundup:
• A Yamaha M6 was swiped from West 11th Street near 19th Avenue on Aug. 20.
• A Yamaha R6 was taken from its parking spot on 65th Street between 19th and 20th avenues on Aug. 22.
• A Yamaha was swiped from 82nd Street on between 16th and 17th avenues on Aug. 23.
• A Honda CBR600 was taken from a parking spot on 17th Avenue near 72nd Street Aug. 24.
Busted bodega
A team of thieves robbed an 18th Avenue grocery on Aug. 19, getting away with $400 in cash.
The perps entered the store, which is near 85th Street, at around 4 am, and blocked the doorway. One of the thugs displayed a handgun and told the cashier, “Don’t move and open the register!” The cashier gave the money to the perps, who fled.
