Homes invaded
At least two neighborhood homes were broken into last week:
• On Nov. 15, someone burgled a 70th Street apartment between 13th and 14th avenues between 1:30 pm and midnight, when the tenant returned home. More than $20,000 in jewelry and electronics were taken.
• The next day, someone broke into a house on 73rd Street between Ninth and 10th avenues. The tenant told cops that she was sleeping in her bedroom at around 2 pm when she heard a plant fall in her living room. When she walked into the room to investigate the noise, she saw someone climbing out one of the living room windows, but nothing was taking from inside the home.
Stomach ache
Someone burgled a Bay Ridge Avenue eatery on Nov. 15.
The 30-year-old owner of the restaurant, which is between Second and Third avenues, told cops that she closed the diner at around midnight. When she returned 13 hours later, she noticed someone had pushed in the air conditioning unit, climbed through the window and grabbed more than $4,000 worth of alcohol and electronics from inside.
Backpick
A sticky-fingered shopper snatched a man’s wallet out of his backpack as he browsed a Fourth Avenue clothing store on Nov. 11.
The victim, 24, was shopping in the store, which is between 67th and 68th streets, at around 3:30 pm. When he went to pay for his purchases, he noticed his wallet was missing from his bag. The thief made off with more than $400 as well as various debit and credit cards.
