A man harassed and threatened a woman — and then set fire to the curtains — of her 12th Street apartment early on March 22, cops said.
The 26-year-old victim said the suspect began calling her cellphone repeatedly around 4:15 am. A few hours later, she saw the man and his car in front of her apartment building, which is between Fourth and Fifth avenues.
The man continued to call her, threatening, “I’m going to burn down this building with you and your family in it!”
And then, cops said, he made good on that threat, setting her front curtains ablaze.
The victim called police, who later arrested the 29-year-old man, cops said.
Bag snatch
Police are looking for two suspects who took a man’s bag on the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Pacific Street on March 19.
The 24-year-old victim was walking to his car at around 9 pm when two men approached and asked for directions. While the first man distracted the victim, the second grabbed the victim’s bag, and the two then fled.
The stolen bag contained a laptop and a digital camera, valued together at nearly $4,000.
Forced entry
Two suspects broke into a 14th Street apartment and stole more than $4,000 of electronics on March 17.
The burglars entered the apartment, which is between Seventh and Eighth avenues, after climbing the fire escape and forcing open a back window sometime between noon and 6:30 pm, cops said.
Once inside, they made off with two Apple laptop computers, two digital cameras, some jewelry and the 21-year-old female victim’s spare house keys.
Wheely bad
Two cars were stolen within blocks of each other over a two-day period.
• On March 19, a 29-year-old female parked her mother’s 1996 dark green Honda on Eighth Street between Sixth and Seventh avenues at around 7 pm.
When she returned 20 minutes later, the car was gone.
• The next day, a thief stole a 1995 black Acura that was parked on 10th Street between Seventh and Eighth avenues
The 33-year-old victim said he left his car unattended from 3–8 pm.
