CANAL SCREAM

Brooklyn Center for the Urban
Environment hosts a Gowanus Canal cruise aboard the Chelsea Screamer
on Sunday, July 18, to introduce newcomers to this now legendary
waterway. Urban educator Dan Wiley will share tales of the area’s
environment, history and industrial architecture.



Dress for sun, wind and water. Check-in will take place at 9
am, with the vessel departing promptly at 9:30 am. Meet at Chelsea
Piers, Pier 62, on the Hudson River between 22nd and 23rd streets
in Manhattan. Fee is $45 for non-members, $35 for members, seniors
