The Center of Nursing and Rehabilitation’s (CNR) Adult Day Health Care Program is sponsoring a free “Caregiver Appreciation Evening” at 5:30 p.m., December 10 at 596 Prospect Place.
Community members who are currently taking care of someone who is disabled, chronically ill, or has Alzheimer’s disease are encouraged to attend this free event.
Caregivers will learn how to handle the responsibility of caring for a loved one from presenters David Yanofsky from the Department for the Aging and Rose Mary Irving of the Alzheimer’s Association Outreach Program.
Topics include “Caregiver Stress,” “Relaxation Techniques” and “Preparing for Long Term Care.”
Attendees will have a chance to participate in yoga exercises beneficial to them as well as to those they care for. There will be food, prizes and surprises.
