Leapin’ lizards, it’s a hit!

Little Orphan Annie made a comeback at the Carroll Gardens School for Innovation with a two-day run this weekend. The school is a regular participant in the Music Theatre International Broadway Junior theater-development program and Friday and Saturday’s renditions of the musical “Annie” were its best performances yet, a honcho said.

“Each of the years over the seven years we’ve been part of the Broadway Junior program we’ve gotten better and better,” said the school’s business manager Corrine Contrino.

Fourth- and fifth-graders acted in the play alongside middle schoolers. It was the school’s second production of “Annie,” the first being its original Broadway Junior show back in 2008.

Principal Deanna Sinito gave the latest rendition a glowing review, saying of what is “one of my favorite weekends of the year.”

“They all shined, both on-stage and behind the scenes,” she said about the kids.

Artists from the Brooklyn Academy of Music helped with musical direction. The play was funded by a partnership between the Department of Education, the Schubert Foundation, and the group Music Theater International.

Little Daddy: Rasheed Blanchard played the generous billionaire Oliver Warbucks.
