Two fundraisers were happening simultaneously on a recent Saturday off Bedford Street in Williamsburg, and the massesw came out to benefiting their causes.

At Oulo, artists, architects, and musicians gathered to support Last Supper, a multimedia food and arts festival, which will be held on September 20 at 3rd Ward (195 Morgan Street), and dance to music from music curator Tom Newman. Curated by Coralina Meyer, the festival’s proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank of New York. Visit www.lambastic.com for more information.

Up the street at Sound Fix (110 Bedford Avenue), proceeds from that gathering would be benefiting the Barack Obama campaign. Kelley Lynhardt and other members of a Williamsburg Obama meet-up put their first fundraiser together backed by the indie band La Strada and an assortment of vegan cupcakes.
