Clones head home after win

Hudson Valley 4

June 28 at Hudson Valley

Cyclones’ right-fielder James “Papa” Roche got the go-ahead single and catcher Colton Plaia knocked in two of his three RBIs in the sixth inning to beat the Renegades.

Brooklyn scored three in the first on a sacrifice fly by L.J. “Mini-Maz” Mazzilli and singles by Matt “Bright Eyes” Oberste and Alex Sanchez.

But the Renegades tied the game in the bottom half of the first and then took the lead in the fourth before Plaia knocked in his first run of the game, setting the stage for the monster sixth inning.

The win ends the Cyclones’ three-game losing streak and sends the team back to Brooklyn after a week-long road trip on a high note. The Clones will l take on the Renegades tonight at MCU Park.
