After a mere twelve hours away from the ball park, the Cyclones stepped up to the plate again to face the Renegades for a doubleheader on Tuesday morning and came out on top.
Marcos Molina, on the mound for the first time since June 27, was dominant through five innings, giving up one hit, walking three, and striking out six, dropping his earned-run average to a microscopic 0.38. Josh Prevost earned his first save of the season, after pitching a perfect sixth and seventh, striking out one.
The Cyclones got on the board early with a first-inning double steal that allowed Tucker Tharp to take home as Amed Rosario moved up to second. Michael Bernal homered in the fourth inning, scoring Michael Katz who reached on a single. The two-run shot was Bernal’s third of the year.

Brandon Welch’s first start of the season ended badly as the hurler gave up three runs on six hits in four-and-a-third innings of work.
The Renegade’s Hunter Lockwood took Welch for a ride in the top of the second leading the inning of with a solo shot to left field. Clayton Henning would score later in the inning on a sacrifice fly by Zach Marberry. Alberto Baldonado came in to relieve Welch in the fifth, giving up two hits and no runs.
Once again the Cyclones had trouble producing at the plate. Clones batters could muster just a pair of singles on the night.
The Cyclones go on the road for a six straight games starting Wednesday against the State College Spikes.
