Face it — your kids never like what you get them for Christmas. So this year, scrap the trip to Macy’s and spend your wallet-full of holiday cheer closer to home.
Every Saturday and Sunday through Dec. 23, local artists, artisans and non-profit groups will sell their wares at Habana Outpost.
Linda Scher, a Society for Clinton Hill board member and the force behind the “Artisans Holiday Fair,” said she can’t, as organizer, reveal her favorite buys, but she did say there were hand-knit scarves, jewelry, “ethnic things,” crocheted hats, and “wonderful” Fort Greene Conservancy cards. Word has it that the good folks at Habana Outpost have also been cooking up some pretty mean hot cider.
The Society for Clinton Hill’s First Artisans Holiday Fair, Habana Outpost (757 Fulton St., between South Portland Avenue and South Oxford Street), 12-8 pm. E-mail clintonhill308@gmail.com for info.
