The weather was still gloomy, but Coney Island’s Astroland and Wonder Wheel parks opened on Sunday. Astroland, which sold its land to a developer two years ago, is facing its last season before the wrecking ball comes down.
To mark the occasion, a native joined the parade near the Cyclone and the Bard of Coney Island, Amos Wengler, sang his classic, “Coney Island Opens Up Today!”
