Two teen girls shot outside Coney Island McDonald’s, police hunt fleeing gunman

Just after the afternoon rush on Tuesday, gunfire erupted outside a busy Coney Island McDonald’s, leaving two teenage girls wounded and sending officers scrambling to the scene, police said.

At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers from the 60th Precinct responded to reports of an assault in progress with shots fired at 1403 Surf Ave., where they found a 16-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the leg and a 14-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to the foot.

Emergency medical services transported the victims to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn in stable condition. 

Police added that the suspect fled, wearing all black, in an unknown direction. No arrests have been made as of Wednesday morning, and the investigation is ongoing.
