Cell plan
Police arrested a man who they say stole a cellphone out of a car on Graham Avenue on June 15 and demanded ransom to get it back.
The victim told police he parked his vehicle between Siegel and McKibben streets at 3:30 pm and, when he returned 20 minutes later, he discovered the device had disappeared.
The victim called his number and the suspect picked up and told him to bring $100 to get the phone back, according to a police report. The fellow showed up at the agreed-upon location with police and officers arrested the accused and charged him with grand larceny, cops said.
Menace to delivery
A punk robbed a delivery man who was dropping off food on Clymer Street on June 14, law enforcement officials stated.
The victim reported that he went to an apartment between Bedford Avenue and Juliana Place at 2:50 pm and, when he got to the third floor, a fiend put a knife in his face.
“Give me the money,” the robber said, then grabbed $100 from his pockets and scrammed, officers said.
Losing proposition
Police arrested a teenager who they say punched two cops in the face on Moore Street on June 14.
Officers were attempting to arrest the 18-year-old between Humboldt Street and Bushwick Avenue at 4:30 pm when the teen unloaded on them, a report states. One cop suffered a bloody nose and the teen got slapped with assault charges, according to cops.
Bike-by
A young man was arrested for supposedly stealing a cellphone out of the hand of a woman sitting in Cooper Park on June 12.
The lady said she was chatting on the device with a friend while relaxing in the greensward at 10 pm when the suspect rode up on his bicycle, snatched the gadget, and pedalled off.
Police later arrested the teen and charged him with grand larceny.
Fried with that
A group of teenage louts viciously attacked a 13-year-old inside a Broadway fast-food joint on June 10, cops said.
The victim told police that he was inside the eatery between Thornton and Whipple streets at 2:35 pm when five toughs surrounded him and tried to cajole him into coming outside. The victim refused and the bullies laughed and left, officers reported.
A few minutes later, three of the brutes came back and beat the youngster, with a cane and with their bare hands, then skedaddled, according to police records.
