Cops want the public’s help catching a quick-handed crook who broke into a Cobble Hill apartment building and stole a package late last month.

The hooded burglar jimmied open the front door of the building on Baltic Street between Smith and Hoyt streets with a screwdriver at around 4:40 pm on Jan. 24, police said.

The thief made off with a package holding unknown items from the building’s hallway and fled the scene on foot.

Police released a street surveillance video of the suspect in the act, who cops describe as weighing 190 to 200 pounds, standing at about 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, and last seen wearing a brown hat, gray boots, a blue jacket, and tan pants. Anyone with information regarding this burglary should call Crimestoppers at (800) 577–8477. All calls will be confidential.
