Cops are searching for a man they say inappropriately grabbed a young woman inside a Prospect Heights subway station last Friday.
The victim, a 19-year-old woman, was walking up the stairs at the 7th Avenue station near Flatbush Avenue at about 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 22 when the man allegedly grabbed her buttocks, then fled into the subway station and disappeared. The woman was left rattled but uninjured.

Police said the suspect was about 5-foot-ten-inches tall and was last seen wearing a light green T-shirt and carrying a gray bag. So far this year, transit crime in Park Slope’s 78th Precinct is up 25%, according to the latest police data, with 20 incidents reported as of Aug. 17. Rape in the precinct is up 200%, from three last year to nine this year, but non-rape sex crimes are down more than 40%. Last month, a different suspect in the precinct grabbed a woman’s buttocks on the street at the corner of Flatbush Avenue and Sterling Place, a few blocks from the 7th Avenue Station, according to the NYPD.
