Cops cuffed a man who they say stole a man’s wallet in Kelly Memorial Park on July 7 and then threatened the victim.
The victim told police that the man swiped his wallet after bumping into him near E. 16th Street and Moore Place at 2:25 pm. The victim then confronted the alleged thief, who said, “back off or I’ll punch you in the face,” cops reported.
Police said they later recovered a New York State identification card, a credit card, and a debit card, along with $105 belonging to the victim from the arrested individual’s car.
Duck, duck, gone
Unidentified thieves entered an Avenue S house on July 6 and stole a series of antiques, including 10 duck decoy collectables.
Police said that the perpetrators entered the home near E. 24th Street through an unlocked rear basement door at 11 am after trying to get in through a first-floor entrance.
In addition to the ducks, the burglars stole an antique table, a stained-glass window, several paintings and crystal pieces.
Jewel thief
A nogoodnik entered an Ocean Avenue apartment on July 6 and stole hundreds of dollars worth of jewelry.
The victim told officials that someone entered the apartment near Avenue R through the bedroom window at 9 am and stole one yellow metal chain and a pair of yellow metal earrings. Police said the crook fled through the same bedroom window.
Bike burglary
A scoundrel stole a bicycle from a locked storage unit on E. 23rd Street on July 7.
Authorities said the burglar broke into the unit near Shore Parkway at 7 am. The miscreant found a way to open the unit’s locked door and took off with the Cannondale Super Six bicycle.
Police reported that no damage was done to the door.
