Police arrested a 24-year-old man who they say stole a Grand Street restaurant patron’s wallet on May 26.
According to police, the victim was at the eatery between Bedford and Driggs avenues at 2 pm when the wallet — which contained credit and debit cards, a YMCA membership card, and an Israeli driver’s license — went missing.
The suspect was arrested on May 27 near Broadway and Marcy Avenue at 1:04 am when an officer allegedly caught him drinking beer on an MTA platform. According to police, the defendant had the stolen wallet with him at the time.
He is facing charges of grand larceny, petit larceny, criminal possession of the stolen property and consumption of alcohol in public.
Right in the eye
Police arrested a 30-year-old man for allegedly punching a woman in the face on Stagg Walk on May 1.
The victim told police that she was between Graham Avenue and Humboldt Street at 2 am when the defendant punched her in the eye.
The Brooklyn district attorney’s office charged the man with assault, attempted assault, menacing and harassment.
Stick up on Devoe
A 27-year-old was arrested for mugging a man on Devoe Street on May 24.
The victim told police he was between Olive and Catherine streets at 10:40 pm when the suspect pointed a gun at him and stole his money, necklace, and cross pendant.
