Rallyers protest soaring gas costs and douse John McCain’s presidential bid in displeasure in front of a Shell gas station in Brooklyn Heights. The placard-toting group crusaded against the Republican candidate, who when asked recently by the Orange County Register about the last time he pumped his own gas and how much it cost, replied: “Oh, I don’t remember. Now there’s Secret Service protection. But I’ve done it for many, many years. I don’t recall and frankly, I don’t see how it matters.”
