Hungry for valuables
A thief made off with a woman’s $900 Louis Vuitton bag while she eating in a new barbecue restaurant on Union Street on June 23.
The 34-year-old woman told police that she was chowing down in the eatery between Third and Fourth avenues at 8 pm when the perp snagged her purse from the back of her chair.
The baseball cap-wearing fiend, who was caught on surveillance video, got away with the pricey bag holding an iPhone, a Marc Jacobs wallet, a Channel wallet, a necklace, sunglasses, a $100 MetroCard, credit cards, and house keys.
Poached two-wheeler
A crook jacked a woman’s bicycle that was chained up to a pole on Seventh Avenue sometime between June 29 and June 30.
The 43-year-old woman told cops that she locked up her gray $1,200 cruiser bike between Carroll and President streets on June 29 at 7 pm. When she returned the next day at 7:30 pm the two-wheeler was missing.
Now you see it, now you don’t
A sneaky thief stole a bunch of electronics out of a woman’s bag while she was in a Union Street tea shop on June 29.
The 49-year-old woman told police that she put her bag down next to her in the shop between Sixth and Seventh avenues at 7 pm and turned away for just a minute. The perp got away with her Apple laptop, external hard drive, iPad, iPhone, and software.
Drilled
Police cuffed a 58-year-old man who allegedly slashed his neighbor with a drill inside the victim’s Sixth Avenue apartment on June 27.
The 58-year-old victim told cops that he and the suspect were having an argument in the residence near 10th Street at about 12:05 pm when the suspect cut him on his right arm with the tool.
The victim had to get stitches for his wound, according to a police report.
Fired up
A perp stole a generator from a food vendor-storage facility on Butler Street on June 24.
The business owner told cops that the crook snagged the $1,200 generator from inside the establishment between Third Avenue and Nevins Street at around 1:40 am. The owner told police that the facility is open 24 hours a day with multiple vendors going in and out.
Gone in a flash
A quick-handed miscreant grabbed a woman’s bag from her while she was sitting on a Flatbush Avenue sidewalk bench on June 23.
The 59-year-old victim told cops she was sitting on the bench near Flatbush Avenue at 3:45 pm with her pocketbook resting beside the seat when she bent down to adjust her sandal.
When she fixed her shoe and was ready to leave she realized that her purse — containing multiple credit cards, a driver’s license, $500, a $300 fountain pen, and a cellphone — was missing.
Break in
A bandit broke in to a Fifth Avenue bar and looted $480 on June 28.
The owner of the pub between Fifth and Sixth streets told police that he left the business at 2 am, and when he returned seven hours later he noticed the cash register was sitting on the bar and $400 in small bills and $80 in coins was taken from a locked room.
The victim told police that the perp got in through an unlocked cellar gate in front of the bar.
Opportunist criminal
A sly crook made off with a woman’s purse while she was hanging out in a Fifth Avenue bar on June 29.
The 33-year-old woman told cops that she was in the pub near 11th Street at 2:50 am when she noticed that her bag, containing her passport, credit cards, cellphone, house keys, and a book, was missing.
The victim told police that she placed her bag on the ground at some point.
Car gone
A perp jacked a woman’s car that she left parked on Sixth Avenue sometime between June 22 and June 24.
The 38-year-old victim told police that she left her gold Honda on the street near 12th Street on June 22 at 4 pm. But when she returned two days later at 8 am the ride, which has a navigation system in it and a $350 worth of camping gear, was gone.
