Cash grab
A punk snatched cigarettes and cash from a bodega on Mermaid Avenue and attacked the clerk on Aug. 1, police said.
The victim told police he was working at the store between W. 32nd and W. 33rd streets at 10:30 pm when the suspect asked to buy cigarettes. When the clerk turned around, the nogoodnik took money from the register, but when the clerk caught sight of what the punk was up to, the two got into a verbal argument, police said.
The suspect threw a glass bottle at the victim, cutting him across the right eyebrow, before he fled the bodega, cops said.
Hair-raising
Police arrested a 34-year-old man for spanking a 14-year-old boy with a hairbrush on Aveunue X on Aug. 7, said police.
According to authorities the victim and suspect got into a verbal argument between W. 11th and W. Eighth streets at 7:30 am that turned physical. The victim told police that the suspect strangled him before grabbing a hairbrush and striking his buttock repeatedly with the brush.
Wild ride
A baseball bat-wielding goon swung at and punched a man exiting a roller coaster on W. 10th Street on Aug. 7, cops said.
The victim got off the ride between Surf Avenue and the Boardwalk at 11:15 am and was approached by the baddie, who punched him in the face — causing swelling to his eye and cheek — before fleeing, police said.
Jewel thief
A thief busted into a woman’s Brighton 12th Street home on Aug. 7 and made off with jewelry, police said.
The crook used a crowbar to break the front door lock of the home between Ocean View Avenue and Corbin Place and fled the same way he entered at 4:10 pm, authorities said.
