Fire Marshals are investigating a fire that injured two residents in Crown Heights on Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to the blaze at 162 Troy Ave. in the Albany Houses, part of the New York City Housing Authority, shortly after 8:38 a.m. on May 11.
Engine Company 234 and Ladder Company 123 arrived to find heavy smoke in the lobby. Firefighters located the fire in the compactor chute. Crews used special ventilation fans to clear the smoke. In total, 78 firefighters deployed three hoselines to control the flames. A search of the building yielded no further victims.
The two injured residents declined medical attention, according to a Fire Department source at the scene. The fire was brought under control at 9:39 a.m.
