This one was a heartbreaker.

The Cyclones battled back from a 2–0 early deficit and took the lead in the top of the eighth, only to blow the game by giving up two runs in the bottom of the inning.

After falling behind, the Cyclones cut the lead in half on Brian Harrison’s RBI single in the fourth.

The Clones tied the score in the seventh on Chase Greene’s first homer of the year.

In the eighth, the Cyclones took the lead after Javier Rodriguez led off with a double and scored on Charles Thurber’s two-bagger.

That’s when skipper Rich Donnelly summoned closer Jeremy Gould to the mound.

Gould got the first two outs quickly — but then gave up three consecutive singles. J.B. Brown’s error on the last single allowed the winning run to score.

The Cyclones return home vs. the Hudson Valley Renegades at MCU Park [1904 Surf Ave. at W. 17th Street in Coney Island, (718) 449-8497] on June 29, 7 pm. For info, visit www.brooklyncyclones.com.

Charley Thurber knocked in what should have been the winning run.
