Hudson Valley 10
Cyclones 4
June 24 at MCU Park
It was a Gunnar stunner!
Cyclones hurler Gunnar Kines imploded last night, giving up eleven hits and six runs in six innings as the Cyclones were routed at home by the Renegades.
Clones fans barely had time to sit down before Kines gave up two runs in the first inning — one on a single by Emilio Gustave — and the score stayed that way until the fourth, when Walter Rasquin’s single up the middle scored both Carl Stajduhar and Jeremy Wolf to tie the game at two.
But the Renegades blew the game open in the fifth when Bill Pujols belted a two-run homer and Andgel Perea singled to score Gustave, giving the ‘Gades a 5–2 bulge.
Hudson Valley tacked on another run in the sixth, and after a Dylan Snypes sacrifice scored Ian Strom, the Renegades poured it on in the seventh against reliever Joe Napolitano, who gave up two two-run homers — one to Matt Dacey and another to Gustave — putting Hudson Valley up by seven.
The loss drops the Cyclones to 2–3 for the season, tying the team for last — that’s right, last — in the McNamara division with the putrid Aberdeen Ironbirds.
The Cyclones look to right the ship today against the Renegades at MCU at 4 pm.
