Starter Collin McHugh was almost unhittable, giving up just four hits in his seven innings, but Aberdeen made them all count, scoring first in the second inning on a double and a single, and then adding a run in the fourth after a single.
The Cyclones did score in the seventh on a groundout, but wasted a two-men-on situation in the fifth when Luis Nieves grounded into a double play.
And Tyler Vaughn doubled in the sixth, but was stranded.
McHugh’s record dropped to 5-2.
