Cyclones game postponed; best player sent up

Heavy rain postponed the Cyclones’ game against the Auburn Doubledays last night, and it will be picked up today at 5:30, followed by a shortened version of the scheduled game after its conclusion.

Umpires in Auburn ordered the tarp dragged on to the field in bottom of the fourth inning with the Cyclones trailed 2–0, as Doubledays’ starter Jake Johansen kept the Brooks hitless to that point.

Worse for the Cyclones, outfielder Jorge Rivero is no longer with the team, having been sent up to single-A Savannah of the South Atlantic League. Rivero’s departure means the loss of the Cyclones’ best hitter. Rivero led the team with a .339 on a team-best 21 hits.

The second game will be seven innings.
